When the first movie came out, I saw it the day after it was released - and loved it. But when the second film was released, I was excited about it, but I guess life got in the way and I didn't see it until last week...nearly six months after its debut on the big screen.
I liked it (not as much as the first one) but it was fun and I enjoyed spending time with my "four old friends." And of course, the clothes, shoes and decor were amazing. Eye candy to say the least!
Now on to the google....there is brief shot near the

So I google "teacup charlotte uses at the end of movie" and lucky me - the first hit that comes back is golden!
It's a blog called Habitually Chic by an interior designer living in New York City. And the post I found is entitled "Sex and the City 2: The Interior Design Review" posted on April 18, 2010. The post was awesome! It has all these screen shots from the movie and then the blogger talks about the sets, specifically Carrie's new apartment. The detail was great and I loved the writer's passion for design and decor.
But what about my teacup?? It wasn't until I started reading the 60-some comments on the post that another person asked about the teacup. I was so excited - I knew I was getting close. I kept reading the comments, hoping some chic, in-the-know person would reply, but nothing! I was so bummed! Especially since I was so close!
So I gooled a few other variations of my original search and unfortunately got nowhere. (Lots of results for teacup puppies though!) I even googled "over-sized teacup" but didn't see anything I liked.
So, my search continues. But in the meantime, I found a new blog that I love. I spent a lot of time reading more recent posts on Habitually Chic and I especially love that the blogger incorporates a lot of pictures into her posts.
OK, time to go. I need some coffee - DAMN I wish I had Charlotte's teamug!
Oh god it's from 2010! We might never know
ReplyDeleteDid she ever find out what cup that was?!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt might have been me wondering about that cup. And I still am!!
ReplyDeleteMy new idea is to trace the just above visible maker's mark underneath the cup. Wish me luck
Did you ever find it!? I’m still searching!
DeleteDid you ever find the tea cup? I was oppressed but never found it, I just rewatched the movie and screen shot the image. Going to try again to find it, then saw this post. Did you find it yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Carole
Hi, I’ve FINALLY found them! They are from Roy Kirkham’s collection. The size is the Breakfast Cup & Saucer (450ml/15oz)…a normal teacup is about 9 or so ounces I believe, hence the generous size we all fell in love with in the movie! The US website is https://www.roykirkham.com/breakfast-cups-and-saucers/. If you’re not in the US/Canada, replace.com with.co.uk in the link above. There are many patterns to choose from, but the one Charlotte uses in the movie is the English Chintz/Blue Chintz pattern. It looks like Amazon sells some as well, but doesn’t have all the patterns. Note, there are some squarer bottom models in this collection, but Charlotte uses the rounded bottom version of the Breakfast Cup & Saucer. Happy Shopping!!!
DeleteI’m glad I’m not the only person looking for the same thing. Why has no one found this? I guess I have to watch the credits and look for the prop master, and then Google them and then ask them the question. Another day...
ReplyDeleteI too, have scoured the internet! 😔
